New Hyundai HX220ALs added to our fleet

demolition contractors lancashire - The Hyundai HX220ALs

Thanks to Taylor Braithwaite (Hyundai Construction Equipment Dealer from Appleby, Cumbria), we’ve just taken delivery of 2No ‘Brand Spanking new’ 22-23 tonne demolition spec. excavators just in time for a Summer full of “Reclaiming The Past for the Future”. We have a busy Summer programme of work to get through and these two beauties will certainly help make the job easier.

The Hyundai HX220ALs

Here’s a ‘walk-round’ video of the new HX220AL machine.  These new crawler excavators are part of Hyundai’s brand new A-series, which is a fresh generation of construction equipment that complies with the European stage V emission levels. But it does much more than that… while fulfilling regulatory demands, Hyundai aimed for maximum performance and productivity, better safety, more convenience and improved uptime management.

With the ‘ever-present’ focus on efficiency and sustainability The HX220AL is powered by a robust Stage V certified Cummins engine with an innovative integrated after-treatment system that reduces both emissions and maintenance requirements. It delivers all the power that we need to handle demanding jobs, along with fast levelling and truck loading times and excellent fuel economy. A range of smart technologies are included for precise management of the engine output and pump flow rate. A new EPFC (Electronic Pump Flow Control) system improves controllability and reduces operating costs.

These machines also support a safer workplace. Small details can make a huge difference when it comes to safety and security. The HX220AL offers all-round protection for the operator, their workmates and our equipment. Its cabin and engine hood feature a new design that allows maximum visibility, while Advanced Around View Monitoring (AAVM) gives the operator a clear overview of their surroundings and it also includes Intelligent Moving Object Detection (IMOD) technology that senses and warns you when people or objects come within five metres of the machine. So, by helping to ensure an accident-free worksite, the HX220AL contributes to the peace of mind and productivity that form part of the Hyundai Effect.

When committing to significant capital expenditure such as this, we need to know that the investment we make today will help to sustain your business over the long term. That’s why Hyundai prioritised reliability throughout the development of the HX220AL, from design and manufacturing to quality control. Hyundai have improved engine reliability by removing the EGR and integrating exhaust after treatment with a simplified, single-module system that’s easier to maintain. The upper and lower frame structures are reinforced for high load work, while the attachments have been rigorously tested for the roughest conditions. The overall aim is to minimise downtime and repairs so that our teams can stay on schedule, avoid unexpected costs and protect our profits.

Now let’s put these ‘bad boys’ to good use and get cracking…
