Fishing Trawler Demolition

Hardcore Crushing are proud to announce the launch — forgive the pun — of our Marine Demolition Division, having been set the task of dismantling a 60-foot, 16-foot-beam decommissioned fishing trawler at Lancaster.

This was genuinely one of the most unique and unusual projects in Hardcore Crushing's history — and one the team thoroughly enjoyed taking on. Marine demolition requires careful planning around environmental protection, material segregation, and the specific challenges that come with working on a vessel.

The Challenge

Dismantling a trawler is significantly different from conventional building demolition. The structure contains a mix of steelwork, timber, fuel systems, electrical systems, and various materials requiring careful handling and disposal. Every component needed to be assessed, removed, and processed through the correct waste streams — from metal recycling through to specialist disposal of fuel and hydraulic systems.

The Result
