Radar Safety Vision

As part of our ongoing policy of resource upgrade and improvement, Hardcore Crushing Ltd has just taken delivery of a stunning 36-tonne Next Generation crawler excavator — the new Hyundai HX360L. As demolition contractors operating across Lancashire and the North West, we’re always investing in machinery that allows our teams to work safer, faster, and more efficiently. The HX360L is, quite simply, above and beyond.

“Equipped with advanced electrohydraulic control systems, the HX360L achieves a minimum 25% increase in productivity — whilst Next Generation smart technologies deliver lower total cost of ownership.”

Next-Generation Performance

The HX360L’s FEH (Fully Electrohydraulic) system is a landmark development in demolition excavator technology. By controlling flow rate via an EPOS (Electric Power Optimising System), and because everything from the joysticks to the pump operates electrically, there is no hydraulic loss as found in conventional machines. The result: less fuel consumed, faster response, and significantly more precise control — exactly what’s required when dismantling large and complex demolition structures across commercial, industrial, and residential sites.

A six-camera array combined with 360° radar object detection delivers unobstructed visibility around the entire machine.

Operator Safety & Precision

For demolition contractors working on complex structural demolition projects in Lancashire and beyond, operator safety is paramount. The HX360L sets a new standard. The operator is presented with two 12.8-inch full HD touch screens and, coupled with electric joystick steering, this combination makes for highly productive, precise, and comfortable operating across even the most demanding demolition environments.

Inside and outside: the HX360L’s precision cab controls and robust 36-tonne undercarriage

The 6-camera system and 360° radar offer a completely unobstructed view of the working environment — a critical feature when demolishing structures in tight urban locations across Blackburn, Preston, Burnley and the wider Lancashire area.

Lift Assist & E-Boundary Safety Systems

Included within the in-cab visual control screens is a feature called Lift Assist — a visual guide divided into four quadrants indicating safe zones for moving a load during lifting operations. This helps prevent overloading and ensures stability throughout the lift — an all-important factor when demolishing structures of any scale.

Complementing this is the E-Boundary SAVM (Smart Around View Monitor) — a 360-degree radar object detection system providing a constant safety bubble around the machine. Together, these systems represent a step-change in on-site safety for demolition contractors.

  • Lift Assist — four-quadrant visual guide for safe load positioning and stability
  • E-Boundary SAVM — 360° radar object detection with remote control capability
  • 6-camera surround vision — complete unobstructed view of the demolition site
  • Electric joystick steering — faster, more precise machine control for complex structures
  • FEH electrohydraulic system — lower total cost of ownership, reduced fuel consumption
  • 25%+ productivity increase — Next Generation features deliver measurable site performance gains

“The E-Boundary SAVM system provides 360° radar object detection — setting new levels in operator and site safety for demolition contractors across Lancashire and the North West.”

And it looks the part too…

We won’t pretend the cab isn’t seriously impressive. Spacious, well-appointed, and built around the operator — it’s a genuinely comfortable environment in which to spend a long working day on a demolition site. The Hyundai HX360L is the pinnacle of excavator efficiency in the industry today, and we’re incredibly proud to add it to the Hardcore Crushing demolition fleet.

This is all part of our ongoing commitment to operating the very best plant and equipment available — our equipment policy ensures our entire fleet is upgraded on a 5-year cycle, guaranteeing that every project we undertake — whether residential demolition, commercial site clearance, industrial plant removal, or emergency demolition response — is delivered with the best machinery available.

Demolition FAQs — Machinery & Services

Common questions about demolition excavators, plant equipment, and Hardcore Crushing’s services across Lancashire and the North West.

QWhat is a Hyundai HX360L used for in demolition work?

The Hyundai HX360L is a 36-tonne Next Generation crawler excavator used for structural demolition, building clearance, industrial plant removal, and site preparation. Its advanced FEH (Fully Electrohydraulic) system and precise electric controls make it particularly suited to dismantling large and complex structures safely — whether that’s a commercial building, industrial facility, or residential development site across Lancashire and the North West.

QHow safe is modern demolition machinery?

Modern demolition excavators like the Hyundai HX360L incorporate multiple advanced safety systems, including 360-degree radar object detection, 6-camera surround vision, Lift Assist load stability guidance, and E-Boundary remote monitoring. At Hardcore Crushing, all operators are fully trained and qualified, and all plant and machinery meets or exceeds current HSE safety regulations. Our CHAS accreditation and SMAS Worksafe certification reflect our industry-leading commitment to safe working practices on every demolition site.

QWhat demolition services does Hardcore Crushing provide?

Hardcore Crushing Ltd provides a comprehensive range of demolition services across Lancashire and the North West, including: residential and commercial demolition, industrial site clearance, crusher hire, licensed asbestos removal, high-risk structural demolition, site preparation and ground remediation, and 24/7 emergency demolition response. We cover Blackburn, Preston, Burnley, Accrington, Chorley, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and beyond.

QWhat is FEH (Fully Electrohydraulic) technology in a demolition excavator?

FEH (Fully Electrohydraulic) is an advanced control system where all machine components — from joysticks to hydraulic pumps — are controlled electrically rather than through traditional mechanical linkages. This eliminates the hydraulic energy losses inherent in conventional systems, delivering improved fuel efficiency, faster machine response, and more precise control. For demolition work, this precision is particularly valuable when dismantling delicate or complex structures where over-running a component could create safety risks.

QHow quickly can Hardcore Crushing respond to an emergency demolition?

Hardcore Crushing operates a 24/7 emergency demolition response service across Lancashire and the North West. Our team can typically mobilise and be on-site within 2–4 hours of your call, 365 days a year. For structural collapses, dangerous structures, or hazardous situations requiring immediate demolition, call us directly on 01254 233045. Our modern plant fleet — including the new HX360L — means we can respond rapidly with the right machinery for any emergency.

QDo Hardcore Crushing use their own machinery or hire in equipment?

Hardcore Crushing operates its own modern fleet of demolition machinery, which is upgraded on a rolling 5-year cycle as part of our formal plant and equipment policy. Our fleet includes excavators, crushers, and specialist demolition attachments — all owned and maintained in-house. Owning our own plant means we have complete control over quality, availability, maintenance standards, and safety compliance on every project we undertake.

QCan I hire a crusher from Hardcore Crushing independently?

Yes. Hardcore Crushing offers standalone crusher hire across Lancashire and the North West. Our crushing equipment is available with a qualified operator, or as machine-only hire for suitably qualified operators. On-site crushing allows demolished material — concrete, brick, aggregate — to be recycled into usable hardcore on your site, significantly reducing haulage costs, skip hire, and landfill waste. Contact us on 01254 233045 to discuss your crusher hire requirements.

QAre Hardcore Crushing accredited demolition contractors?

Yes. Hardcore Crushing Ltd holds full CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) accreditation and SMAS Worksafe certification. We are fully HSE compliant, hold a licensed waste carrier registration, and carry comprehensive insurance for all demolition activities including high-risk structural demolition and licensed asbestos removal. Every project comes with complete documentation as standard.
