Hardcore Crushing recently completed demolition works at The Christie Hospital in Manchester for a valued repeat customer. As you'd expect on a live hospital site, the key requirements were clear from day one: work safely, keep everything well organised and contained, and deliver to a high standard — all within a tight schedule.
This was not a straightforward demolition. The building to be demolished was located immediately adjacent to the 'vibration sensitive' main hospital and the highly-trafficked delivery road, as well as alongside the main Wilmslow Road. The environment demanded precision, discipline, and constant communication.
In addition to the logistical constraints, we were asked to deliver the scheme to an extremely tight programme — with work needing to be completed within an efficient timeframe and with minimal disruption to the surrounding site activity. That meant:
Before work began, the team worked thoroughly through the site requirements and planned the programme in detail. Once on site, the approach was straightforward: turn up prepared, keep standards high, and stay focused on delivery.
Regular check-ins and hands-on management from the team helped maintain alignment with the schedule and allowed us to respond quickly when needed. The proximity to the hospital's active departments made dust, noise and vibration management critical throughout — all managed to the agreed methodology without incident.
The hospital were very impressed with our professionalism throughout — they recognised the restrictions placed upon us and praised us for how we overcame the challenges and delivered the works in a safe and 'no-fuss' manner.
The works were completed on time and to a very high standard, with a smooth handover at the end of the job. A repeat client, a sensitive site, a tight programme — and another clean delivery from the Hardcore Crushing team.

Completed within the tight programme on a live hospital site — vibration management, dust suppression and site cleanliness maintained to the highest standard throughout.

We recently completed works at The Christie Hospital in Manchester for a valued repeat customer. As you’d expect on a live hospital site, the key requirements were clear from day one: work safely, keep everything well organised and contained, and deliver to a high standard, all within a tight schedule.
Our team was brought in to support the project with a focus on efficient delivery, tidy working practices, and reliable on-site coordination. With limited time available, the priority was keeping the job moving without compromising on safety and quality.
Projects in active environments demand a professional approach. On this job, the main challenge was the extremely tight nature of the site as the building to be demolished was located immediately adjacent to the ‘vibration sensitive’ main hospital and the highly-trafficked delivery road, as well as alongside the main Wilmslow Road. In addition to the logistical challenges, we had been asked to deliver the scheme to a tight programme, with work needing to be completed within an efficient timeframe and with minimal disruption to the surrounding site activity.
That meant:
Strong daily planning and clear communication
Safe, controlled working methods
Keeping the work area clean, organised, and compliant
Making sure progress followed the ‘critical path’ programme from start to finish

Before starting, the team worked through the site requirements and planned the work to suit the programme. Once on site, we kept things simple and effective: turn up prepared, keep standards high, and stay focused on delivery.
Regular check-ins and a hands-on approach from the lads on site helped us stay aligned with the schedule and respond quickly where needed.
The works were completed on time and to a very high standard, with a smooth handover at the end of the job. A big thank you to the lads on site for the effort and professionalism throughout. This was a proper team job, and it showed.
The hospital were very impressed with our professionalism throughout the process and they recognised the restrictions that had been placed upon us and praised us for how we overcame the challenges and delivered the works in a safe and ‘no-fuss’ manner.
